Bubble vs. Bubble Gum: The Bubble has smaller, finer bubbles for an elegant look. The Bubble Gum has larger, more striking chewing gum bubbles for a playful, lively character. Both are beautiful – it depends on your personal style!

Compatibility: Standard E27 pendant lamp holder required. A HEMMA lamp holder (IKEA) is included. Only suitable for LED bulbs (max. 15W, E27). Not compatible with incandescent or halogen lamps.

Bubble Gum Lampshade - Available Sizes:

• M: 25 × 25 × 18 cm (Diameter × Height) – The compact eye-catcher. Perfect for the hallway, as an accent light in the children's room, or above the bedside table. Weight: approx. 250 g.
•  L: 30 × 30 × 26 cm (Diameter × Height) – The bestseller. Ideal above a dining table for 2–4 people, in the children's room as the main light, or in the bedroom. The XXL bubbles are particularly stunning in this size! Weight: approx. 380 g.
•  XL: 35 × 35 × 31 cm (Diameter × Height) – The statement piece. The XL Bubble Gum, at 31 cm high, is impressive and striking above a large dining table, in the living room, or as a central design element. Weight: approx. 550 g.

Good to know: The Bubble Gum is slightly taller than the classic Bubble (XL: 31 cm vs. 26 cm). The larger gum bubbles require more space, creating an even more impressive play of light.

Tip: Unsure about the size? For a child's room, M or L is usually sufficient. For above a dining table, we recommend L or XL. As a rule of thumb: The lampshade should be about 1/3 of the table width.

What is your Bubble Gum lampshade made of?

Your Bubble Gum lampshade is made from PLA (polylactide) – a bioplastic derived from corn starch. Unlike conventional petroleum-based plastics, PLA has a significantly smaller carbon footprint. Good for your home, better for our planet.

What's special about our process:

• Each Bubble Gum lampshade is 3D printed in our own manufactory in Heidelberg – not a mass-produced item, but genuine craftsmanship from Germany.
• The characteristic XXL bubble gum bubbles are built up layer by layer – making each shade unique with its own character.
• After printing, each piece is hand-finished and quality-checked. Slight differences in the surface are intentional – like with a handcrafted design object.
• PLA is lightweight, robust, and durable – your Bubble Gum will accompany you for years.
• Minimal material waste: Precise 3D printing results in almost no offcuts.

Care instructions:

• Simply dust with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
• Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
• Do not clean in the dishwasher.
• Do not heat above 60°C (therefore, only use LED light sources!).

Note: PLA is splash-proof, but not suitable for wet rooms (bathroom) or outdoor use.

Installation – It's that easy:

• Step 1: Hang the pendant lamp holder in the desired location (ceiling hook or existing ceiling mount)
• Step 2: Place the Bubble Gum lampshade onto the E27 socket from below
• Step 3: Tighten the shade ring to secure the shade
• Step 4: Screw in an LED bulb (max. 15W, E27) – done!

Time required: approx. 2 minutes. Really that easy!

Important:

• Use only LED bulbs (max. 15W, E27) – incandescent and halogen lamps generate too much heat!
• The included HEMMA lamp holder fits any standard ceiling connection
• If you already have an E27 pendant lamp holder, you can mount the shade directly on it

Pro Tip:

For the most impressive lighting effect, we recommend a warm white LED (2700K). This makes the play of light from the bubble structure especially cozy!

Will the Bubble Gum lampshade fit my existing lamp?

Yes, the Bubble Gum lampshade fits any standard E27 pendant fitting with a screw ring! If you don't have one yet – no problem: A HEMMA fitting (IKEA-compatible) with cable and ceiling mount is included. So all you need is an LED bulb (E27, max. 15W) and you're ready to go. Installation takes only 2 minutes – just plug it in, tighten the socket ring, and you're done!

Which light bulb is best suited for the Bubble Gum lampshade?

We recommend a warm white LED bulb with an E27 base and a maximum of 15 watts. For cozy, warm light, choose 2700K – this will highlight the bubble structure particularly well. For more neutral light (e.g. in the kitchen), 4000K is suitable. Important: Use only LED light sources! Incandescent bulbs and halogen lamps generate too much heat for the PLA material.

What is the difference between the Bubble and the Bubble Gum lampshade?

Good question! The Bubble has smaller, more organic bubbles – it looks more elegant and fits almost any interior style. The Bubble Gum has larger, more playful spheres with a casual boho charm.
