Special Feature:

The Ripple has a cuboid proportion – all three dimensions are identical (e.g., 25×25×25 cm). This gives it a particularly harmonious, balanced shape.

Tip: Unsure about the size? For a child's room, M or L is usually sufficient. For a dining table, we recommend L or XL. As a rule of thumb: The lampshade should be about 1/3 of the table width.

What is your Ripple lampshade made of?

Your Ripple lampshade is made from PLA (polylactide) – a bioplastic derived from corn starch. Unlike conventional petroleum-based plastics, PLA has a significantly smaller carbon footprint. Good for your home, better for our planet.

What makes our process special:

• Each Ripple lampshade is 3D-printed in our own workshop in Heidelberg – not a mass-produced item, but genuine craftsmanship from Germany.
• The characteristic ripple structure is built layer by layer – making each shade unique with its own character.
• After printing, each piece is hand-finished and quality-checked. Small differences in the surface are intentional – like with a handmade design object.
• PLA is lightweight, robust, and durable – your Ripple will accompany you for years.
• Minimal material waste: Precise 3D printing results in almost no offcuts.

Care instructions:

• Simply dust with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
• Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
• Do not clean in the dishwasher.
• Do not heat above 60°C (therefore, only use LED light sources!).

Note: PLA is splash-proof but not suitable for wet rooms (bathroom) or outdoor use.

Installation – It's that easy:

• Step 1: Hang the pendant lamp holder in the desired location (ceiling hook or existing ceiling mount)
• Step 2: Place the Ripple lampshade onto the E27 socket from below
• Step 3: Tighten the shade ring to secure the shade
• Step 4: Screw in an LED bulb (max. 15W, E27) – done!

Time required: approx. 2 minutes. It really is that easy!

Important:

• Use only LED light sources (max. 15W, E27) – incandescent and halogen lamps generate too much heat!
• The included HEMMA lamp holder fits any standard ceiling connection
• If you already have an E27 pendant lamp holder, you can mount the shade directly onto it

Pro Tip:

For the most impressive lighting effect, we recommend a warm white LED (2700K). This makes the play of light from the bubble structure particularly cozy!

Does the Ripple lampshade fit my existing light fixture?

Yes, the Ripple lampshade fits any standard E27 pendant fitting with a screw ring! If you don't have one yet – no problem: A HEMMA fitting (IKEA compatible) with cable and ceiling mount is included. All you need is an LED bulb (E27, max. 15W) and you can get started right away. Installation takes just 2 minutes – attach, tighten the fitting ring, done!

Which light source is best suited for the Ripple lampshade?

We recommend a warm white LED bulb with an E27 base and a maximum of 15 watts. For cozy, warm light, choose 2700K – this will bring out the bubble structure particularly well. For more neutral light (e.g., in the kitchen), 4000K is suitable. Important: Only use LED light sources! Incandescent and halogen lamps generate too much heat for the PLA material.

How does the Ripple differ from other Roomberry lampshades?

Yes! In addition to classic white, the Ripple is also available in pink – as one of the few lampshades in our range.
