The Flamingo Oyster Mushroom is no ordinary wall shelf – it's a statement. Inspired by the real Flamingo Oyster Mushroom (Pleurotus djamor), which attracts all eyes in tropical forests with its vibrant pink gills, we have transformed this fascinating shape into a floating wall shelf.

The delicate, flowing gills are the centerpiece of this design. No other mushroom shelf has this unique structure – each individual gill is 3D printed in our Heidelberg manufactory and then hand-finished. The result: a shelf that seems to float on your wall and transforms any room into a small gallery.

The Flamingo Oyster Mushroom is particularly popular as a plant shelf – a Pilea or succulent on the curved gills looks simply magical. But it also cuts an incredible figure as a decorative shelf in the bathroom, as a bookend in the living room, or as an imaginative element in the children's room.

What is your Flamingo Oyster made of?

Your Flamingo Oyster wall shelf is made from PLA (polylactide) – a bioplastic derived from cornstarch. Unlike conventional petroleum-based plastics, PLA has a significantly smaller carbon footprint. Good for your home, better for our planet.

What's special about our process:

• Each Flamingo Oyster is created using 3D printing in our own factory in Heidelberg – not a mass-produced item from the Far East, but genuine craftsmanship from Germany.
• After printing, each piece is hand-sanded and quality-checked. Small differences in the surface are intentional – they make each shelf unique.
• PLA is robust and durable – your Flamingo Oyster can easily hold books, plants, and decorations.
• Easy to clean: Simply wipe with a damp cloth. No special cleaning agents needed.

Note: PLA is splash-proof, but not suitable for wet rooms (bathroom) or outdoor use. Do not put in the dishwasher or clean with hot water, as PLA can soften at temperatures above 60°C.

Installation – It's that easy:

Option 1: With drilling (recommended, most stable hold)

1. Mark the position on the wall – the mount serves as a template
2. Drill two holes and insert the wall anchors
3. Screw on the invisible mount
4. Slide the Flamingo Oyster onto the mount – done!

Time required: approx. 2 minutes.

Option 2: Without drilling (ideal for rental apartments)

1. Use strong mounting adhesive (e.g., Pattex, not included)
2. Apply adhesive to the back of the mount
3. Press firmly for 30 seconds, then let dry for 24 hours

Pro tip: Hang several Flamingo Oyster shelves in different sizes slightly offset – like mushrooms growing naturally on a tree trunk. The delicate lamellae look particularly impressive when combined with smoother designs like the Amanita mushroom.

How much weight can each shelf hold?

More than you think! Depending on the size:

• Size M: up to approx. 5 kg – perfect for candles, small plants, decorative objects
• Size L: up to approx. 8 kg – holds books, picture frames, and larger plants
• Size XL: up to approx. 12 kg – even heavy stacks of books or large plant pots

With the included screw and dowel mounting, the shelf is rock-solid. Many of our customers use it as a plant shelf – and even the largest Monstera cutting sits securely.

How do I attach the decorative wall shelf to the wall?

Super easy! You'll need a maximum of 2 minutes: hold the bracket as a template, drill two holes, insert dowels, screw the bracket in place, slide the shelf on – done.

Screws and dowels are included. Don't want to drill? No problem – with mounting adhesive (e.g., Pattex), it works without holes in the wall. Ideal for rented apartments.

What exactly do I get delivered?

You get everything you need for assembly:

• 1× Flamingo Oyster Mushroom wall shelf in your desired color and size,
• 1× invisible wall mount (which creates the floating effect)
• 2× screws + 2× dowels and illustrated assembly instructions.

You only need a drill – or alternatively, mounting adhesive if you don't want to drill.

Can I hang the shelf without drilling?

Yes! Simply use strong mounting adhesive (e.g., Pattex mounting adhesive, not included). Apply adhesive to the back of the bracket, press firmly for 30 seconds, and let dry for 24 hours. For light decor such as small plants, candles, or decorative objects, this holds perfectly. For heavier items (from approx. 2 kg), we recommend screw mounting – it's just as easy and rock-solid.
